The American artist Luke MacRoberts, who recently launched his single 'Take me for a Ride', in an exclusive interview with En Reproducción, talked about his inspirations, his stay in Mexico and details about his new musical plans.

Luke explained that he has been living in Mexico City for 7 years, in an attempt to escape from the routine and the environment that he lived in his native Chicago, he took his belongings and came to seek adventure in The Wonderland where he quickly found work as music teacher and playing with some groups.

"I like Mexico for many reasons, culturally it is my favorite place but I stayed here because it keeps me inspired," Luke commented on his stay in the country.

And it is precisely that inspiration that led him to compose 'Take me for a Ride', a song somewhat different from what he had done previously, but without losing the essence of rock that characterizes MacRoberts, a song that was born in the middle of the chaos and confusion of the unexpected global lockdown.

"I was at a point in my life where I was completely busy socially and professionally making music, producing, creating and suddenly we were at what seemed like the end of the world," explained the musician.

"I was like everyone, stuck at home but I tried to stay productive and the song was born as a joke of all the ideas I had about it. It was a process of recording and creating everything. Besides this, I was separated from my girlfriend and only in my department so I guess the lyrics really came from my need to be loved, to be touched and to be with her," he added.

About his return to the stage, Luke commented that he did not know when a formal return could take place with other bands or live shows, due to the closure of places of this type in the city since a large part of his musical band is dispersed, due to that some returned to their native homes.

Previously there were rumors about a surprise collaboration and street audiovisual work for the official video of 'Take me for a Ride' that expressed Luke's love for music and for Mexico City. In this regard, the artist commented that without wanting to spoil anything, he will make a local production with a local CDMX band and for the video it could well be a live version of the song filmed in the streets of the city.

Finally, Luke MacRoberts, invited the public to follow him on his social networks to be aware of recent news while we are still waiting for the launch of the official video of 'Take me for a Ride' and other musical novelties, which far from fit him into a musical genre, they will seek to exploit his personality as an artist.

"The music industry is built in such a way that everything fits perfectly inside a box and I just want to be myself, I think that being myself it will be enough," he said.
